Oh, Bavay

Oh, Bavay, oh Bavay,
What words can I give, what words can I say?
My first time to set foot in the Frenchland,
Though much too swift to ever take you in.
Just over the border from where I dwell,
Quite easy to stumble upon coming from the land of Belg.
I’ve heard of the delights of your cheese,
So many to savor, though a few might send your nose in retreat.
The tales have also come of your wines of rouge and blanc,
And you just might sway my mind to drink from that grape font.
So, let not worry come, for I shall soon return again,
To the land of the French, and maybe even to Bavay.

Jamison raised his head and began perusing the coffee shop with his eyes. He loved just letting his mind wonder as he looked around at the various customers. His eyes fell on the dark-haired man again, still preoccupied with his newspaper. Jamison sat there for a moment, then went back to his journal.

You know, there is this man I see every couple of weeks here at The Coffee Range, and he just arrived not too long ago. I don’t know why, but there always seems to be something peculiar about him. And, not only that, but…What? Who wouldn’t…what? Oh yeah…Who wouldn’t deny their taste buds the enjoyment of their most favorite of foods. And that is what I did tonight. Continue Reading »

The Man of Antivia (Part 3)

Continued from The Man of Antivia (Part 2).

‘Get out of here,’ cried Yorund’s father! ‘You are not wanted in these parts! Leave!’

The bearded man did not speak. He just stay stood there, eyes fixed on the father. Yorund was frightened at the sight of the man. He could only imagine what might happen next. Continue Reading »

Longings

Amazed, I am, at the bigger picture;
Heart enlivened to feel the flicker.
Our journey’s superior to words on paper;
Deadening the drama never made us greater.
If only you know by parchment and ink,
Tis no satisfaction for longings so deep.
Only drinking from the cup of life’s great treasure,
Can we truly taste delight and unearth truest pleasure.
